    Default Dirty bird scuttle

I ordered myself a dirty bird scuttle the other day. My moss scuttle is half broken and I can't lather in it so I thought I would give this one a try. Is my PJ2 super going to be to small for the scuttle? I believe the knot is 22-23mm. Anyone have this scuttle?

I remembered seeing one popping up in the SOTD section, so I went back and rechecked it. Seraphim has one (the scuttle, that is), maybe you could drop him a PM.

This is my DB scuttle, I'm not familiar with the PJ2, but I use a Twizerman with mine and it works fine

It will be just fine for your brush!

I used mine this morning with my 21mm Shavemac.

    Enjoy it!

Here's mine with a CH3 and a T2. Your brush should be just fine. BTW, these are excellent scuttles.

I used it tonight for the first time. I like the scuttle and all but it did not seem to keep my brush very warm. I would rather face lather anyway so I think I am going to try and trade it for a small moss scuttle.

    How did you heat it?

I use a GP scuttle and microwave it for 4 minutes. It keeps everything very hot for about 10 minutes and acceptably hot for around 20. In fact it's so hot I have to add water to the lather between passes as it tends to dry out from the heat.

I have a GP Scuttle also, I used to heat up the water I put in it in the microwave for about 2 minutes but have since stopped doing that as it would get too hot so I just use the hottest tap water I can get and that usually works ok. Heating up the water for less time works well too just if the water in the scuttle is too hot it's difficult to get a good lather as I've found the soap will be all bubbles or dry out really fast.

    Sorry for

I just run hot tap water into mine and let it heat for about 10 minutes and then re fill it with hot tap water again. This method works very well with the small moss scuttle, maybe I should have tried to heat the Dirty Bird in the microwave.

If not sure I would heat any ceramic in the microwave unless it specifically says its safe to do. I have the GP scuttle and I usually fill it with hot tap water inside and out while I shower and then fill the outside with boiling water. It keeps the lather hot for maybe 10 minutes max.
