Default DYI -Teak Chair Leg Shave Brushes

For the DYI guys out there.

I made these some months back as a cheap alternative to buying readymade Silvertip brushes.

Got the knots from the Tony at The Golden Nib and found an old teak chair my neighbour was throwing out.

Basically just drilled a hole in one end of a leg with a spade bit of appropriate size & shaped on a belt sander.
The knots were glued with a polyester resin & handles finished with CA.

Yep, as easy as it sounds & no lathe needed.
Nothing fancy but works just great.

If the cost of a Silvertip brush puts you off. Make your own for a fraction of the cost !

    Thanx.
I got those knots quite sometime before the Aussie dollar dropped.
I think about AUD$15 delivered. Don't know his current prices.

Thanx guys. It's quite easy and worth a try.

A lot of my scale timbers are recycled from old furniture etc.
