brush Care?
Hello out there . Im very new to strait razor shaving .Just received my first shave kit for christmas.
For brush care do you rinsh your brush after shaveing or just leave it alone . Some one told me just
put it back in your mug and leave it and dont rinsh it . Any help on this matter would be appreciative
thanks

Rinse thoroughly, shake out all the water you can, and then let it air dry!the stand is an option but not an absolute necessity!

It's like any other hairy item- it needs to be rinsed and let dry. A while back someone suggested washing it out with shampoo every once in a while, and I find that it works quite nicely.

I have a Marshall Fields pure badger brush that my gf (now wife) gave me in 1975. ALL I did was rinse it, shake it out, and let it dry and I didn't even have a proper stand until 2003! It's still a great brush after years of daily use, but now my main brush is a Rooney silvertip. I do have a proper stand for the Rooney.

Rinse thoroughly for sure each time. I used to wring it out in my hands, but came to the conclusion that could not be good for the hairs. Now I shake/snap vigorously about 10 times, set it base on the counter to dry. It’s usually dry by the next day.

I recently got a stand for my Crabtree and Evelyn small super badger brush and I must say that my brush dries much faster that way, I would imagine that the benefits of the stand can be seen overtime. I rinse the brush with warm/hot water and remove most of the soap and later shake it a few times until no drops come out. Now that I have the stand, I let my brush earn a well deserved rest after serving me... ;-)
