Thread: Show off You whipping Bowl

I want to see what kind of bowls everyone is using to whip up their lather in.
So I'll start here is mine. It is Stone ware (soup bowl)

Here is mine. My sister made it when in college at Ohio U. She has a degree in fine arts. I found it in her flower bed one day. She was using it to water toads??? I took it and love it.

I have tried these versions.
Right now I'm very pleased that beige one where the brush is. Great size and great verges.
The one which is in the back is my proto to glued two cheaps together to help to keep the lather warm. It works but is a little bit too big and heavy.
Right now I'm more interested to do honing, stropping, polishing blades etc. but definately in the future want to try more bowls.

I use this one: Old Traditional Shave mug, weiss The Different Scent:. Someone has put a lot of thought into this bowl, as it simply does everything right: spiral groove in the bottom, a handle to hold the bowl in your hand and fixate it with your thumb, slanted rim. If only it did not look so rural...

On the left a soapstone incense bowl from walmart w/ Colleens Bayrum/orange. On the right a shallow white ceramic bowl from hobby lobby w/ Colleens Leatherneck.

Using a tealight in the stand doesn't work too well for keeping lather warm*, but putting it all in a sink of hot water works perfectly.

(* Or rather it works too well, boiling lather is unlikely to be good.)
