I've seen a lot of recommendations for ONE of their brushes, it's the $35 USD "Best Badger" in a cream colored handle, but it looks like it's not on their website anymore.
From the *few* reviews I've read, I hear that their soaps are good but not amazing. Kinda mixed reviews.

Edwin Jagger manufactures all of C&Es brushes. The Best Badger is recommended by most as a great first brush, and it is. It is economical and it will give you a very good sense of the brush/lather process.
I have only ever used that particular brush from C&E, and since then I've moved on to others from different manufacturers.
As for the Nomad soap, I personally love it. I think it smells great and it performs well. It doesn't get top billing as far as soaps go, but I will give it a very solid thumbs up for both scent and performance. Its a quality soap. If you're considering some, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Thanked: 19I have the Crabtree and Evelyn Super Badger brush with the white handle, not the new black/nickle one, and I love it. Its about 30 dollars more, and was a gift, but its a great brush. Its a little bigger than the Best Badger, and I imagine the hair is of better grade, but I've never interacted with the Best Badger brush, so I don't really know. The Best Badger brush is recommended so highly because of its value, i.e. you get more quality in the brush than you pay for. But I love my Super Badger and the quality is superb. I've lost 1 hair out of it, and that's not bad for the first month of regular use.
Basically I love everything about it, from the size (love my big brushes), to the shape (lightbulb, though not overly so), to the texture (soft as my face after a shave ). My only minor complaint would be that it doesn't seem to retain heat as well as other people have said their brushes do, but it retains water quite well, and I think that's more important.Last edited by theworldover; 01-28-2009 at 04:41 AM.

I've been making superlather from Nomad soap and cream. It's pretty good. Not the best, but certainly functional. Like the smell.
I love the Sienna scent though.

I've been using their stuff for ages - their Best Badger Brush is a good deal (around $45-$50 Cnd as I recall) and the Nomad soap and cream have been in my rotation for over 10 years now - great stuff all around!

The Nomad shaving cream smells to me exactly the way shaving cream should smell - woody tones of cedar with some delightful citrus notes. Also, unlike most shaving creams, the scent long outlasts the shave, too.
