    Question C & E brush dilema/lower grade ???

I have a dilema, I had a list on my desk of future shaving purchases I wanted to make, My wife (Bless her !) went out and bought me a brush from Crabtree & evelyn, much to her credit, she purchased the model number that I had written down (this is the number I got off the forum)but itt seems to be the wrong one

My "gift" was a sahving brush model 130271, which according to all the posts in the forum was a small $35 "best badger" , but upon receiving it it is a "pure badger".

so help me out forum, didi i have the worng model number, or has C & E downgraded their brushes ???

This is actually the brush that people have received good reviews #130291, I guess:

Cream Best Badger Shave Brush by Crabtree & Evelyn from Crabtree & Evelyn-Shave Brushes and Accessories

When I bought my brush Crabtree and Evelyn (C&T) had even more choices which made my choice even more difficult. It is funny but my box says 130271. Either way, 130291 or 130271, I think that C&E does not have it in the US at the moment. In the UK, however, they do but at a different price:

after searching the forum, the only number I saw was the 130271, and everyone made comments that this was a good value si i had added it to my "to buy" list.

maybe I can secretly try to exchange it if they have the "91" in stock, after all its not my wifes fault I had the wrong number, and I dont want to do anything to discourage her from making more purchases in the future

Crabtree and Evelyn seem to be going through some restructuring of their mens product lines.
Most places are out of stock on the Best and Super badgers. One of our local stores closed up and the remaining one is an outlet store.
The local store found one in Miami for my son and the District manager hand carried it back
Since the UK site does not ship internationally some have resorted to UK friends purchasing them and sending them on, not the cheapest way to go.
The pure badger is a good brush but has a little more prickle than I like.

I had to do something similar when I bought my brush, this is definitely a way to handle the situation. ;-) You can always explain the mistake and blame me for it ;-).

Also you can buy directly from Edwin Jagger, they have an excellent customer service:

The English Shaving Company - Edwin Jagger shaving accessories, shaving creams and aftershaves

And I believe the Muehle is ultimately the manufacturer of all these brushes but please correct me if I am wrong.

MÜHLE – Shop > BASIC > Shaving Brushes

It is a great brush and you will be happy with it. Good luck and let us know how you make out, I do not feel good knowing that I may have misled you.

Alraz, dont worry about it, I had not made the purchase because I was still performing due dilligence, my wife just jumped the gun.

I did visit the store tonight to try to exchange it, but they only had 2 travel size brushes, and a large black handles silvertip, and they told me that the 130291 (Best Badger) is discontinued
