Yeah I agree it is a great purchase. Quite a nifty mug and in excellent shape. Enjoy! (Just don't get lather all over the floor!)

I like a combination of both I make my lather in a small bowl and then put it in a larger bowl full of hot water so it works by keeping both my lather and my brush warm, and being a frugal individual both pieces together cost about $5.00 at the Target in the house wares department.

This is my favorite mug, one hundred years old. I like the black patina.

Rocketman, I'll probably have lather everywhere at some point!

    Nice set, Sparq.

Alabama, where did you come by your Crabtree & Evelyn scuttle? I've got one I picked up on ebay and up to this point yours is the only other one I've seen.

As far as mug or scuttle, the subject has been pretty well covered. However the ones i absolutely dislike are the ones that are half mug half scuttle. They have the appearance of a mustache cup, except they don't have drain holes.

    Sparq, I love that mug!

I love my scuttle by sara bonnyman pottery. I can't go back to cold shaves.

I lucked up and found it (appeared to be brand new) in an antique store. I think I paid $4 for it. I have a puck of Gold-Dachs soap in it.

I really enjoy using a Moss type scuttle. I lather on the face, so don't use any other bowl too often. The great thing is that the lather simply stays warm though out the entire shave. No other type of scuttle I've tried has ever kept is as warm as these types of scuttles. The older scuttles are pretty cool looking though. I have a few of them from the old days........

    Have fun,

    Lynn
