Alabama, where did you come by your Crabtree & Evelyn scuttle? I've got one I picked up on ebay and up to this point yours is the only other one I've seen.

I lucked up and found it (appeared to be brand new) in an antique store. I think I paid $4 for it. I have a puck of Gold-Dachs soap in it.

I really enjoy using a Moss type scuttle. I lather on the face, so don't use any other bowl too often. The great thing is that the lather simply stays warm though out the entire shave. No other type of scuttle I've tried has ever kept is as warm as these types of scuttles. The older scuttles are pretty cool looking though. I have a few of them from the old days........

    Have fun,

Im not quite understanding the scuttle , I see pics and it looks like it has a spout on it, Does the scuttle get filled with hot water that stays seperate from the area that you are making the lather in ? Right now Im using an oversize coffee cup and I sit it in the sink that is filled with hot water, but if I put to much water in the sink the cup floats around,Im set up pretty good now with everything for shaving but my lathering setup sucks.

Yes, that is the working principle.
