about the same as a Simpson's Chubby of similar size and grade
not quite as soft as John Crowley's Vestavia line (which are hand selected)
slightly denser and more loft than a Vulfix of similar size and grade
more or less on par with a Shavemac of similar size and grade

in other words, pretty top notch.

I have not had the chance to compare firsthand to other brushes.
I've been looking at getting a Simpson's Chubby for my next brush, but since this thread has come up I've might just try one of these knots. I do have a question though:

The Golden nib lists the knot as 28mmx75mm while the Chubby 2 is listed as 27mmx50mm, which properties would you say are about the same for those two brushes?

the density and firmness is similar, even though the chubby is a little smaller

Thanks, it seems like it's worth looking into this knot.

yeah, it's a hell of a deal. compares favorably with brushes costing three times as much or more. I think it's the best deal going.

I mounted the 23mm UK super badger knot in a temporary handle and gave it the first try yesterday. It feels very different from the 26mm silvertip. It is not as tightly packed, yet it seems to hold as much water or more. No shedding whatsoever, woo-hoo. I think that its bristles are longer and thicker than of the 26mm silvertip. It feels smoother and more luxurious against my face and it is less "moppy", its bristles have good backbone. It has different shape, too; with more flat top. I am a happy camper.
