Thanked: 324If you want to hang your brush bristles down....
But you're like me and can't think of a great place for a stand and haven't bothered with buying one, this might work for you. Takes about 30 seconds, won't harm the brush or anything else and works great.
A disc of velcro solves the problem for me. I put the nappy side on the top of the brush where I used to stand it and I put the nylon-hook side under the bottom of the towel rack. Now it's out of the way from everyone else and super easy to get and put back.

I have used some 550 cord (parachute cord) to make a gizmo, somewhat like a hangman's noose. I just "hang" my brush when I'm done. The towel rod is a perfect place to anchor, keeps it out of the way.

Those are two great ideas. I will have to try one since I don't hang my brush. I just shake it out then hit it against a towel for a bit then sit it back on the shelf. ops:

Thanked: 0I hear ya. As an alternative, after rinsing my $4 Burma brush I stand it up inside the cardboard core from a roll of toilet paper.
The wife isn't crazy about how it looks, but the cardboard dries the brush nicely and the bristles come out straight. After 4 months the brush still looks new. Don't know that I'd do this with a nicer brush, but it works for me.

Stsumwhere,
Just wrap some matching wallpaper around your toilet paper roll and it will blend in nicely in the bathroom. Great idea by the way.

Thanked: 17Brush Stands
Geez, guys! Ray (and others) carry plastic brush stands for CHEAP (coupla bucks apiece) which will stand on the sink/counter, or attach up and under anything! They come in different colors, too. There is NO reason to have to struggle to find a way to rest your shaving brush bristles-down with these!
I use a few of them!

Thanked: 4I needed a readily portable hanger since I'm usually on the road. A disc of velcro fuzz on the bottom of the handle (great idea pb!) will hang nicely from a double-sided velcro cable tie which I usually wrap around the hotel towel rack. I made a folding holder for my new (huge) SMF brush, so I can take it with me next week.

I had some suction cups for hanging stuff in the window, so I bent some 1/8" aluminium wire to hook on the suction cup where the thingy hanger was, bent the rest around to form a sort of 2 prong fork just wide enough for my brush handle. Hangs on the mirror out of the way and is handy for travel.

Thanked: 0Great Ideas! Me, I don't really have the counter space for a stand, so I took a cup hook and screwed it into the underside of a shelf in the bathroom towel closet and I hang the brush from the hook with a rubber band that has a couple knots in it to make a small loop for the hook and a larger loop for the brush handle.
