I think getting the towel to the proper temp and moistness is the more difficult job.

Of course it works fine, it isn't about fine it's about the best, the luxury, the crème de la crème, if it was about fine the title would have been decent shaving or good shaving not luxury shaving. LOL! Not trying to be a pain, I'm just trying to say the thread is about the top of the line towel not just something that is sufficient.

I also shave after a hot shower, so, generaly, the towel thing doesn't happen that often. But I do use towels - I always wipe the lather of the blade on a dedicated towel. These are (very) low grade white IKEA towels that cost 0.50 Euros... and guess what? They do a fine job as hot towels! Of course a nice egiptian cotton towel would be nice but... for now, the IKEA towels are just fine.

I've heard things about egyptian cotton, though I've never experienced it personaly. It's supposed to be quite nice, any one ever used it before?

Thanked: 278I tried my thick Turkish cotton "towel" mentioned above. Turkish is similar to Egyptian, said to be a tad better. There is a lot to be said for it. It holds half a sinkfull of water and stays warm a long time.
But ... I've gone back to using a microfibre towel that I can tie around my head like a bandit mask, it's just so convenient while stropping etc. If it gets cold I can simply splash more hot water on it while it's still wrapped round my face.
