I have an Omega Boar that I believe is the "Pre de Provence" version. I've found that it is a great brush that has softened with use and does a fine job face lathering. It does lack a bit when working with creams but my overall take on the brand and the brush is positive.
Hope this helps.

Omega is a great brand of boar bristle brush. It may take several latherings to break the brush in, but that's just an opportunity to practice your technique. I get GREAT lather from mine. Unlike badger hair, boar bristles must soak for 5-15 minutes before lathering. That's what makes them soft and supple.

Omega badger brushes have a reputation for being "pretty ok". Not bad, but not spectacular. They have a certain style, but since your link doesn't work I can't tell you much about the actual brush you're asking about.
Omega boar brushes are fantastic, as has been said.

Thanked: 488They are reasonably good brushes. As far as finding one do a google search and you'll get a gazillion hits. A lot of retailers who sell shave items sells them. A good one will be about $40 or so maybe a little less.

Check out the review section. I was pretty happy with the inexpensive Semogue. And since you are in Europe, shipping would be less, too.

I just purchased 2 relatively cheap Omega brushes, cheap compared to Badger anyhow the 31064 for $30 and the 81052 for $20 to be honest I wasn't expecting much despite all the good reviews. I have a VDH brush that while it feels and works ok is a constant shedder at least a few hairs in the mix and sometimes even losing a few when applying the lather on my face which was very irritating when shaving with a straight as you can imagine.
So far the Omega's have impressed me in particular I like the smaller 81052 but both work great, they make lather from soaps easily as good as some of my badgers and are stiff but soft not scratchy like a pure badger and so far haven't lost one hair at all either. I don't see them replacing my badgers for everything but I can easily see these being my hard soap and travel brushes and being in constant rotation.

I recently bought a new Omega boar brush that has been shedding hairs ever since I started using it. Initially 1-2 hairs, now about 10 a day. I wrote to Omega and they admit the boar hair they use nowadays is not as good as it used to be and they sent me a Syntex brush that is actually much better than I expected though I still prefer the boar hair.
It has a very beautiful briar handle so I am looking for a knot to replace this one as soon as it has too few hairs to be usable.
So though my first Omega boar bristle lasted me more 20 years I won't be buying Omega again.Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose. Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr.
