I found the 1520 to have the best handle shape, but I found 55mm a bit too long for me. I also find the wooden handles a bit too light, would be better if they were heavier.
I actually meant "I found the 1305 to have the best handle shape, but I found 55mm a bit too long for me".

The SOC custom limited edition brush is coming out on 10th Dec at www.vintagescents.com This maybe the brush for you...
Well, the loft is longer than I'd like, 45-50mm seems to be my ideal length, but what the heck, I've ordered one anyway!

I've been thinking of picking up the 1470 as well as the new Limited ed boar. However I haven't used the 24mm knot brush in my arsenal. I generally fancy the 18mm-22mm knots.

Anyone have the 1470 by any chance? Hows the craftsmanship, lather ability, softness of tip, bristle stiffness, knot density, and what's your overall impression? Does it shed much if at all? Thanks

My 1520 and 620 mentioned above both have the same knot, and the 1520 the same handle, as the 1470 (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

They are both excellent after a week or so of break in, and I wonder why anyone who face lathers soaps needs anything else. To get a better face latherer would require Finest two band badger, at enormous expense!

They have great backbone with soft tips, and medium density which allows for great flow through, they are not lather hogs.

Craftsmanship is great and I've lost fewer hairs from my 1305, 1520 and 620 combined than some of my Rooney and Simpsons brushes.

I can see why people like them so much!

I have used a 1470 for a month now & i really like it. It face latherers fantastically well. The broken in tips are very soft, yet the brush retains the right ( IMHO ) of backbone. It holds a good deal of water too, more than one might expect for the size of brush. The build quailty is excellent. Mine has shed maybe 7 bristles in the first few shaves, none since.

I find it is on a par with the 620, however, the 620 has a more "scrubby" feeling to it.

I would be very suprised if you were disappointed with any Semogue brush. They are hand built by a craftman to make a shaving lather. At that, they excell, nuff said....

I have both the 1305 and 2000. They are both good but if I had to choose one I would take the 2000. The 1305 is better for soaps though I find it a bit disappointing with creams. The 2000 is great with creams. The 1305 takes longer to break in than the 2000. So if you prefer cream it's the 2000 - if you prefer soap take the 1305.

the 2000 is the only one I have experience with, and I love it. It took a bit for the break in process, but that adds some charm now that it's all mine, so soft, and a total lather beast! It loves lots of water, by the way.

and i'm getting the limited edition as well.

Picked up the 1470 from Leon. I would've gone for the LTD boar but I already picked up some brushes.

I have the 1305 Boar, and I'm waiting for the Limited Edition '09 Brush. I'll let you guys know what I think of it. I don't have the 2000, but to be honest, I like the performance of my Omega Pro better than the 1305. The handles aren't as nice looking, but I've got no fear of dropping it (unlike my 1305).

I've been impressed with Semogue though, and Leon is great to deal with.
