Default James Kent Old Foley Scuttle

Hi, Thought I'd share a pic. of my scuttle I bought for £2.50 from ebay. It's a James Kent Old Foley.
    According to a search on google,It was made between 1913 & 1918. I won't be using it,though it's too nice.

I remember my dad had that style of scuttle. If only I knew I would later get into wet shaving I would've payed more attention.
If I remember right with this style, water goes into the lower chamber and the brush soaks in the water while the soap on top heats up? Then you ether face lather or use another bowl for lathering?
    Do I have that right?
I wish I knew what happened to my dads old stuff.

Actually, I have given it a go but I was scared that I would let it slip out of my soapy hands.so perhaps once in a while it'll get used.I think that's right,GG1 I use it that way.

I've got something similar, but not antique
    Shaving Lather Mugs and Bowls

Much more expensive than your ebay find though. I like mine just fine, though I have trouble getting the soap to work... just wants to spin in the cup. occasinoally I'll load the brush in soap, and then do the lather in the scuttle..
