    Default types of knots question

ok guys im looking into getting me a few knots for making a few shave brushes. but i need to know if anyone has ever used www.thegoldennib.com for brushes. i looked it up and going from just prices, does this say what quality it is also. the first one was the finest and best at 15.95 for a 22mm. and then the silver tip at 16.95 for a 22mm and then the super badger at 22.95 for a 22mm. well anythoughts on this would be great thanks again guys

stiffer may be better for soap than creams. Bigger may be too floopy if you want more control.

The standard silvertips from there are a bit prickly.

The UK super silvertips from there are fantastic!

I use a brush I restored with one of their knots every day, and I'm quite happy with it.

I believe I ordered the "best" because I'm a cheapskate.

As far as quality/price, you are correct that the higher priced are supposed to be more expensive. They're also supposed to be slightly softer, so if you're used to a stiffer brush, the cheaper knots will likely work better for you.

Hello Jason. I highly recommend the brushes from Golden Nib. These are the ones I did from old brush handles [except the Saville Row on the right] and run from 28mm to 20mm. I think I will do the more expensive English ones next time. I had one to shed a lot at first but it has since settled down.

i have two brushes from the golden nib, i have no handles for them yet but still prefer them to the other brush that i do have so i just use them with out handles (for now) hoping to get some handles made this coming week or so when i get home to my lathe

I have restored 3 vintage brushes with Golden Nib knots and recommend them highly for the price. However,I requested they ship my last ones in a box since the first one came in a padded envelope and was quite squished when I got it.
