Default can i make coffee in my shave bowl?

i've got the bowl that comes with the $7 wally world set. I've read here that it's a pretty decent bowl, so there's that.

anyways, conventional wisdom says to set the brush in a bowl full of hot water for several minutes. so i'm thinking i set my coffee machine to brew (no filter/coffe/etc, just water), and put my bowl under there

so, yah is the bowl impervious to heat (at least) to the point where it can sit for several minutes on a coffee machine?

Sounds nice, give it a go and let us know what happens!

well, i've got my brush, and bowl sitting on my coffee maker's heating pad
it's been there for about ten minutes, with no cracking/breaking/calamities, so... yay?
the brush might be damaged. i've got a cheapy boar hair brush, with a plastic handle, so there might be issues there. but otherwise, it's great. i might get a dedicated candle warming pad for the job, but it's definitely a great way to have warm(er) lather!

I like that idea, I think I may have to give it a try....with no brush in it.

I dont want to damage the brush.

    Hey jehan60188

I have tried using a candlewarmer for hot lather works alright but you need to use a double boiler method. In other words put a bowl w/ water on the warmer then put another bowl w/ lather on top.

If you don't the heat doesn't distribute evenly and you end up w/ lather drying out in one spot.

try using the coffee maker to put hot water in your bowl (saves on buying one of those hot water makers) then using the warmer to keep the water at a good temp.

I have been trying arctic shaving recently so haven't needed to use hot lather.

hope this helps let us know how it turns out

I've often used my coffee maker by placing the shaving bowl on top of it, where the steam comes out, while making coffee. I turn it on and then shower. By the time my shower's done, my soap is warm and my coffee is ready.
