Default My Brush is no more

Over the course of my holiday, my brush developed terminal hair shedding.

It was a cheap (although, not that cheap to have lasted such a short time IMO) Men-U synthetic, and I was quite happy with it.

I need a replacement that won't break the bank, any thoughts?

    Cheers,
    Greg

oooh. if it was me, this would be an excuse to buy a new knot and turn it into a nice silvertip brush.

I can't say I really desire silvertip particularly, but the idea of replacing the knot is probably worth looking into.

I have a small collection of nice badger brushes, but lately I have been enjoying 2 different boar brushes in the Omegas Pro series. Cheap & nice, no shedding.

If your looking to get a brush under $30 then an omega boar is an excellent option. If you want an inexpensive yet great performing badger brush for under $80 a Rooney 3/1 is my recommendation. They also now come in different grades of hair.

I've been at this several months, and wasn't going to burn the bank down while learning. Some weeks ago I bought a bowl and brush at Walmart for $7.50. I'm not spoiled by better. But, it works and seems to work quite adequately. On another similar message recently, others mentioned buying bowl and brush at drug stores like Rexall also.

I'm with the resto option - the Golden Nib knots are rather affordable, and come in boar, badger, and synthetic. Decent prices too.

Hi Guys, thanks for the advice.

On the off chance, I emailed the company (Men-U) to explain the situation, got a pleasant reply saying it was unusual and that some loss would be expected to start with but not after this time, it has been requested that I send my brush back to them and they are going to send me a replacement (A better replacement, in fact)

So, I'll see how that goes. Email sent at about 2 reply received at about half 3. Not bad.

    Cheers,
    Greg

You can't beat that it is nice to hear they are taking care of you. If you do want to buy another brush check out the Vulfix brushes they have some that are nice and cheap. I have one of there best badger brushes (it was the first I bought a 1000A or something) and it is a good brush and cheap too!
