Thanked: 20Gone too far?
Hey RS, I took your suggestion and put it in motion. I think that website is soon to follow. This is just too much fun. Keep an eye out in the vendors corner.
Turned of Black and White Ebony wood. 3.5" will take anything from an 18mm to 24mm knot.

Thanked: 20It is currently sitting in a vat of walnut oil with bees wax. Once its absorbed enough, its back to the "grind stone." UPS just came by and dropped off an order of highly figured black walnut. Guess what the bishop is going to be made of. :-) "Who is in the mood for a game of chess?" lol

I can hardly wait! The rook is impressive, I am anxious to see the skill and craftsmanship you put into the bishop. Full speed ahead and damn the torpedoes!

Thanked: 20Its a swiss piece, totally neutral. :-) well, RS, here is the bishop half done.
Highly figured black walnut: ( I guess since this one is dark, that makes the Black and White Ebony the whites. )

Thanked: 20Alright, this is my last picture for tonight.
This is a mock up done with a 22mm silver tip ( on loan from a customer to reference proportions on his custom handle )
Detailed view of tower.
