Custom Brush by Carbonsteel928 and Golden Nib
Yesterday I received the brush handle I'd ordered from Carbonsteel928 ( website Home ). To say I'm pleased would be an understatement! It looks amazing and feels incredible when I'm holding it. I favour small to medium brushes generally so I asked Miguel to make it to accept a 20mm knot and in the mean time I ordered two 20mm knots from Golden Nib, one in Silvertip, one in Super Badger, which is a treated Silvertip knot in a fan shape. When the handle arrived I tried both knots in it before deciding on the Super knot as I liked the look of the fan shape in this handle. I only wish my photos could do the brush justice as it looks fantastic and the lines in the wood almost seem to flow and move as the light catches it.
Here is the brush on it's own:
Here it is next to an Edwin Jagger Best Badger in Small and a Kent BK4:
All three in full bloom:
And a view of the knots in full bllom from above. You can really see how the fan shape makes the 20mm knot appear very large.
I'm incredibly pleased with both the handle and the service I received from Miguel, the handle wasn't just made, it was crafted ! I still have a 20mm knot left and I know who I'm going to order the handle from as well as another handle for a larger knot I'm going to order from Golden Nib this week, as I feel I should have at least one large brush in my arsenal.
Thank you, Miguel!

That is a great looking brush! Thanks for posting multiple pictures of it with your other brushes. I thought I would sacrifice an older brush to put the knot in the handle Miguel did for me, but now I will just order one from Golden Nib, thanks by the way for mentioning them, as that will save some frustration.

Thanked: 137Lovely handle, that's almost exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for for my 28mm knot. Thanks for the link to his site, I'll definitely be looking into using it in the future.
