Thanked: 8anyone tried this (REALLY CHEAP) silvertip?
Guys,
Just lookin around at ebay I've found this ad for a silvertip badger brush for less than US$ 20,00.
Has anyone ever tried one of those?

I've thought about those also but I worry that the quality control might be an issue and it will shed like my dog in spring

probably a generic Chinese made brush. Some have said they are well worth the cost however be advised the QC ain't very good and if you get a bad one well...

I doubt it is a genuine silvertip. I would guess trimmed/bleached generic badger instead.

Its not even labeled, even if it was a tweezerman I could recommend it, as it would be a step up from boar.

Thanked: 259i have been using one from this seller for about 3 months now. it has the black handle and i liked it enough that i ordered one with the white handle. i have had a couple of hairs shed a couple of times, but not very bad. for the price it is worth it. if you watch the auctions you will see a best offer option on some of the sellers and i bought both of mine for less than $13 including s/h....

Like 59caddy, I have two of these only I got the white handle first. They are brilliant value for money. Hardly any shed and a decent brush. Is it silvertip? Probably not quite but top notch for the prices they fetch.
I have a few good quality brushes such as Kent, Shavemac, Jagger and so on but these two El Cheapo Chinese brushes get use far more, except perhaps for my Shavemac.
No, they aren't Plisson or Simpson quality but you show me one of those for $13!

Have been using one since March. Mine is a silvertip with the black handle, very soft and dense. A pleasure to use.
I really like this brush for creams ( use a Omega Pro boar for my soaps )
I do not recall ever losing a single hair. I would buy another.
