Thanked: 7Pen Displays for razors?
I know it's been alluded to on the forums before, and I'm not sure if it fits in this section... but, whatever
.
Does anyone use pen cases to display their straights, and if so, are their any problems with size? I realize that there is probably some variation between manufacturers, but I think my straights are a bit longer than most pens.
I know this one 7-Pen Display Case - Rockler Woodworking Tools, works, but I think the finish stinks, so its out of the question.
I was thinking of this something like this Amazon.com: Pen Box Display Storage Black Leather With Lucite Window: Watches.
any thoughts?

There is variation. There was recently one on clearance at Woodcraft that held 20 pens in two trays, but the slots were too short (at least for the John Marsh chopper I took along to test...)

You might try emailing them and asking for the dimensions, I didn't see them listed on the page at all.

Thanked: 7Dimension: L 10 3/4" x W 7 1/4" x H 3 5/8
so take away about 3/4 of an inch in both directions, that leaves 1" by 6.5" for each razor. I can only speculate on the depth.
EDIT: minus a little bit for space of course.

I have one and it doesn't work well at all. Since the bottom is rounded, the razors just flop over. There's just not enough upright support

I have my daily rotation in pen boxes. I can get two normal sized razors in each one. I got mine from BurlWoodBox.com. Very high quality and gorgeous.
