Straight Razor box, case, holder, rack....
Looking for some ideas on a straight razor case for less than $20.00. Could be home-made or just something than would be a good substitute. Needs to hold 4 or 5 razors.

I think plastic toothbrush cases have been suggested, but they only take one at a time. Another is metallic pen case (such as children take to school), but you'd have to pack them well so they don't bounce around. Also, some woodcraft stores have sold (rockler?) pen display cases that might be suitable for non-chopper razors, but I don't know how much they cost. If you or your SWMBO is hand with a sewing machine, she could make a razor roll for you, but that would be quite soft.

You need to go to three places.
1. Go to a local cigar shop. Most of these places sell their empty wood cigar boxes and some of them are of pretty high quality...some aren't, but most will range from $8-10
2. Go to the local fabric store and pick up some felt or something you want inside your box.
3. Use your imagination to create something unique and original.
I've seen those high quality cigar boxes turned into just about everything from storage to purses.

Google cigar caddy. They aren't the prettiest, but they will protect your razors from a truck running them over or being thrown in the ocean.
I think the 5 cigar version is around $20

See what I'm getting at?
Total cost using cheap wood, interior fabric and some stain you already have should be under $10 Add a hinged plexy top with frame, and a latch to hold it shut for maybe another $5-7.
Add a secure wall mount to the back and it's a display case.

I bought this some time ago and it's exactly what I was looking for. It's made for displaying your hand-turned pens, but it's a perfect size for razors. And the price is right.

Check it out.
