By mug I mean your face and stubble not the old coffee mug.

Do other folks find that the state of their face makes a difference
in the quality of the lather that builds on the faces.

I have a feeling that I get a better shave with a boar brush
but not a better lather. My whiskers tend to lay very flat to my
face and a badger brush just does not lift the whiskers as well
so my blade has a good look at the whisker.

Having said that, a good wash cloth scrub of my stubble in the shower
prior to a shave does level the different between brushes. Especially
so with a +two day growth.

Well, I'm off to pick up a spare $7.95 boar brush at CVS
(what a bargin).
