    Default 47p/$1 brush?

Picked up a brush this morning for 47p in 'Wilkinson's'

First impressions are it's small and stiff It's got a pretty decent heft to it though and the bristles are dense.

Might be worth a punt for those starting out and certainly worth knowing about for any one who travels and finds them selves caught short so to speak. I imagine I will use this as a travel brush if it does ok.

i'm having a shave later so I will test it out. 47p.

Wait, so the UK has $ stores instead of pound stores? They just change their price to reflect whatever the $ is worth?

You know what you must do dont you?

Glue 9 of them together to create BRUSHZILLA... use it to make lather on the stove, in a 12" skillet.

no, it doesn't, I just shoved up an approximation $ price because the majority of the members here are from the states. It's actually less than a dollar, 80 cents.

Tested the brush, and it works. I will be recommending this for people who are on a budget.

I'm inclined to think that this brush will probably get better with use. I used a shave stick with it yesterday and whilst that worked fine, and I got a great shave, it might be better with cream.

It hardly shed at all, maybe one or two bristles.

    Not bad for 47p.

Idea: Pick up a ton of them. Sell them to one of the guys that does starter kits for basically what you paid + shipping. Makes it even cheaper for a new guy to get started.

I would be quite happy to do that if any one is interested. I'm not sure how much they would be to post, not a lot.

I'll go and try making some 'normal' lather and see what the results are like. If they're ok then I think this would be a perfectly reasonable starting point. It certainly aint luxury, but they would get the idea.

Well, I was right. The bristles have got much softer after one use I think.

I think I am going to start doing starter kits, consisting of a razor, brush, cream and shave stick.

Here are some pictures of the lather, I did apply it to my face but the pictures were rubbish.

I would say this was after about 30 seconds to a minute of soaking and about the same again working the cream in the bowl.
