Default Difference between premium and super

So I was looking around at brushes and some are labeled super badger and some are premium badger, is there a difference between the two?

    Thanks

The first thing you have to realize is there are no grading standards in the industry and there is widespread use of dying so names can mean little and a manufacturer can call the hair anything he wants. You need to have confidence in the manufacturer so you know what a certain grade really is. For example for Plisson HMW is their top. Simpson it's super and Rooney it's finest.

The grades depend on from what part of the animal the hair comes from. My understanding is the top like the Rooney Finest comes from a specific area of the body and only grows during certain times of the year and not all badgers have it. It has very different qualities than regular Silvertip. As far as I know very few manufacturers use this grade. Others may call it that but in reality it's not.

I concur with thebigspendur (I almost always do). In addition, I would say make sure you buy from a site that is trustworthy (there are quite a few trustworth vendore).

Rooney shaving brushes, Taylor shaving brush, Cyril Salter brushes UK gives an explanation of some of the grades.
