Thanked: 22Excelent budget badger hair brush
I just wanted to share a find with anyone who's on a tight budget like I am. I started out using a cheap boars hair brush from Wally world and it lasted for about 6 months before the bristles came out of it. I could have probably hot glued them back in but I wanted to look for a better brush. I have an extremely hard time paying some of the crazy prices for the bager hair brushes. I found a Tweezerman brush for only $14.95 from Nashville Knife shop. Here's the link: Tweezerman Shaving Brush - MUHLE . I didn't realize how much of a difference a badger hair brush would make. The boars hair brush never gave me a good lather but got me started. I would imagine the expensive brushes may be ever better but for only $14.95, this one will stay on my vanity from here on out.

Thanks, that looks like a good brush for a very reasonable price.

Thanked: 3That's the brush I'm using now. I've had it for about 10 months or so and really haven't lost a whole lot of bristles. I'm actually in the market now for a new brush, but more just because I finally want something a little nicer looking.
I got mine from amazon and it's a little less expensive from there. - Amazon.com: Tweezerman Men's Shaving Brush: Health & Personal Care
Realistically though it's a nice budget brush that does the job.

Thanked: 530You can also get a top end boar (an Omega) for 20-30 dollars.. I have a brush that is essentially a different named tweezerman, an dI far prefer my boar brush to it... A good boar, given time to break in -a month- is excellent with cream and soap and such a wonderful face massage...
And yet I still reach for the badger just as often

Excellent Budget Badger Hair Brush
Hello, everyone:
The brush looks like a bargain, although I have no experience with the Twizerman brushes.
Do we know what size this brush is? What about its density?
Regards,
Obie

Thanked: 1195For the best value you can get for your dollar I can't say enough about the Vulfix pure badger. A great combination of performance and economy, especially since their brushes can be quite pricey like other hand-made British brands. Have you ever seen a Rooney or Simpson in the $30-40 dollar range?
I don't know much about Tweezerman, but for a few bucks more I'd say go with Vulfix.

I used a boar for years and then bought a tweezerman just to check it out, good value for the money!

Thanked: 22The brush appears to be a tad bit smaller that what some of the higher end brushes appear to be. I couldn't believe the difference in what this brush is compared to the one I was using. Once I lather up, my face looks like I have shaving cream on it. I think it has something to do with the density of individual bristles in the brush...Kind of like the difference of using a bad paint brush or a good one. The good one will hold paint and not drip everywhere. LOL! I'll have to check out Amazon and see if it's the same one for an even cheaper price.

Thanked: 7I just tried a Jaguar-made in Turkey and available on Amazon. I've only used it maybe 15 times so far. It is a HUGE boar brush and seems to be breaking in slightly faster than an Omega 48. I've had no bristle loss and it was $12.99 on Amazon, I think. The Omega 48 is a nice brush too, also boar, and costs less than $20, I think (It's been awhile on that one). I've had no significant problems with bristle loss on it either.
