Not bragging ... or complaining, but one of my earliest wet shaving ADs was shaving brushes. I'm not contradicting anyone either when I say that a Rooney Finest is a scrtichy .... prickly brush. Great backbone and scritchy. The same with the pre vulfix Simpson supers. I don't know about the current stuff but DrP tells me they are really great so I have one on my to get list.

I don't doubt those who find the Rooney finest soft .... another example of the YMMV nature of wet shaving. IME and to my face a Simpson best, Rooney super or heritage or a Shavemac with the higher priced hair are soft to my face. Rooney Heritage brushes might have flow issues as Seth noted. I've had some that did and some that didn't.

I base my opinions on my experience with these brushes here and than some. Some have come since these photos and some have gone. The big plexi Plisson HMW is gone so don't ask.
