Just wanted to add some updated information about this soap lid thingy.
I've been using it for more than a month now with a regular 5 oz puck of MWF soap, and I would estimate that have honestly used less than one third of the soap in the puck. And I am NOT skimping on lather in the morning -- in fact, just the opposite, because I now use a stiff boar brush to make mountains of lather and I shave with three full passes. It's just that, instead of dissolving in the bottom of a mug, the soap is now being used entirely on my face for lather.
Seriously, the soap lid costs about $15, and a good puck of shaving soap costs about $12, which means that this soap lid basically pays for itself in less than two months!

Thanked: 530I've actually started using the little plastic tubs from Mama Bear (Soap Tub) They work quite well for the same thing, but cheaper... However, Oskar's dishes are more aesthetically pleasing, that's for sure!

I actually bought some of those tubs when I got my soap lid from Mama Bear's, and I was looking forward to using them, but at the rate this is going, I don't think I'll be starting another soap until well into the summer! I used to figure about one puck of soap per month, but now each one is lasting more like three months. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion, and I can't wait to try the tubs out. --Jeff
