    This is probably closer to the water tempurature when the brush goes in, it isn't boiling anymore, but it is probably 200+ when the brush goes in.

    I usually use hot tap water, and keep coming back to get more water
    to keep the lather moist enough. The temperature is up to you for your face
    but if you have a wood handle brush leaving it submerged for a while will only bring problems.

    I would mix a little thermite in with the water and if it doesn't melt your brush than boiling water would work ok! (joking)
