In general a 23mm diameter knot with a loft (height) of 50mm or less will be a good soap puck brush. When you go bigger in knot and especially loft you are getting more into the realm of a cream brush. At least in my experience. So if you are going to be a face latherer with soaps a 48 or 50mm loft and a 23 or less knot is probably what you would be happier with.
OTOH, if you want to go both ways .,.... with lathering I mean :) .... then a larger knot/loft might be in order. AFAIK, Vulfix has a reputation of being floppy ... as in soft. Simpsons had more body but are made by Vulfix now so I don't know. I don't know about Omega either so reading reviews if you can find the would be a good thing. Otherwise you may end up like me with 20+ brushes. :eek:
