Thread: Has anyone tried a magnetic brush holder?

I had a pair of magnets in a mobile phone holder that were interfering with my phone each time I removed the phone from the holder. So after removing the magnets I came up with this idea. I glued one magnet onto the bottom of a shelf and the other magnet onto the base of a boar hair shaving brush. It seems to hold firm when the brush is dry. I haven't tried it with the weight of a wet brush yet. Also I don't know how my wife will feel about my wet brush dripping onto her make-up which is stored below my shaving gear.

Anyway, here is my new idea.

I think it's a great idea. Minimal use of space & though possibly a contentious point, i do prefer to dry mine upside down.
