    Cool Photo. I have the same knot and that is one dense silvertip. I am working on "blooming" it out so it can do a better job whipping up the lather for creams.

    It is getting the hairs to open up a bit so they are not so close to each other that it inhibits its ability to whip up a lather. This UK Grade A silvertip is a very dense brush and the hairs just need a little more spacing so it can be more effective at whipping up a lather more efficiently.
