    Default WHY?

I have 2 badger brushes both inexpensive, Tweederman and other I don't remember. My question is the tweeterman stays fluffy and the other the hair seems to clump together in bunches when wet and stays that way when shaken out to dry. Just a cheap brush?

Some pics might help. I am assuming you rinse them thoroughly, give them a shake to get the excess water out?

Yes, lets see a picture. Maybe the hair was never properly sorted or trimmed.

Tweezerman is definitely a badger brush; I have one and like it a lot, even tho' it sheds quite a bit; but the price was right.
I suspect your other brush is boar bristle; they tend to stay clumped together like you describe.

Hey Dennis, good to see you after all this time.
What you said about the second being boar are my thoughts exactly.

That certainly has the characteristics of a boar knot IMO. Alot of boar hair is dyed/stained to look like badger. The person you purchased it from may have just been going by the looks.

Hi JMS! I read the forums fairly often. I just don't think I usually have much to add!

Anyway, that sure acts the way a boar brush usually does. They tend to straighten out a bit when dry. Looks like a wooden handle. A Herban Cowboy maybe? They say "blareau" (sp?) on the box, which means badger in French, but they are definitely boar and not badger. Someone was trying to be fancy but just came off ignorant.
