Thanked: 0brush
I have the silver tip badger from shavemac as well, and it really is a big difference in the old one I had. The one I had been using before ( came with a silver mug and beautiful silver handle, my wife gave it to me about ten years ago.)it was real hard on my face.I believe it was badger)
my new shavemac silver tip lathers up and holds the water and soap great, not to mention feels great!Last edited by nunz4; 02-21-2006 at 02:45 PM.

hey JL i got that shavemac today, havent had the oppurtunity to shave with it yet but i couldnt resist trying to build a lather with it and some of the soaps and creams i have. firstly i can say it's a LOT softer on the face than my pure badger that's made in england and the entry brush from Lee's razors site. It holds way more water (id guestimate just shy of double), this is a good thing in my book but it's going to take some getting use to. using proraso green (about 2 peanut size dabs in a bowl) i got great lather but only after i gave the brush a significantly hard flick to get water out vs my pure badger (with the pure badger and same amount of cream i wouldnt flick ANY water out). Based on looks the brush is a real nice, good lightbulb shape, the handle is just as pictured, i love it. The knot size though still small (21mm i think) is still slightly larger than my pure brush but the biggest surprise was post lathering and watching this thing "bloom", it had to bloom almost a full 3/4" larger in diameter to my pure brush, seeing this i cant fathom how people use a 30mm knot brush (but hey im a rookie what do i know ). trying it on the 2 soaps i have, which i can normally lather very well didnt go great, just too much water in the brush but i know ill get that down with time. there's going to be a slight learning curve with me and this brush but im more than happy with my choice, that said whatever you choose im sure it will be great!

I really appreciate it!
