Tried out my model 4376/4 today. I'm a guy who's tried and sold the C&E BBB, the Rooney 1/2, the Shavemac 177, the Vulfix 2234, the SR 208, a T&H turnback. I found that omega boars had the right mix of backbone and soft tips (oh, those split boar ends!).

Well, this was indeed impressive. The lather (D.R. Harris lavender) fairly explodes in the bowl, and the feel is all folks have been praising. Very soft, nice backbone - but not "pushy," like my Rooney was. I was also struck by how much heat the brush retained as I lathered up. That was a pleasant surprise.

I have to admit that five minutes after I was done, I found myself thinking, "I have to get another one . . . what if I lose this one or they go out of business?"

Thanks to Shaved Zombie for urging me in a PM to try this rather than picking up another strop. (You know how that kid is about his strops.)

I could improve anything, it would be to have the handle longer by maybe 1/2 an inch. The 23 mm bulb shape works just right for my face. But this is a keeper. It looks quite like my Omega 31064. I will post a pic in a day or two when the Thater has it full bloom.

If you are on the fence, I say go for it. I doubt you will have any trouble re-selling it on the board if it doesn't suit your taste.

    Gentlemen:

I have the Thater 22 mm and 24 mm. After several weeks of using these brushes, with soap and cream, I continue to smile from ear to ear.

    Regards,
    Obie

Could you post a pic of the 2 next to each other? I have the 24 mm, and wonder what the 22 looks like post-bloom.

    Thanks.

    Hello, Basset:

Thanks for your note. Of course, I will. It will take me a few days, however, as I am tied down with assignments in and out of town.

By the way, the 22 is small. Not only that, but it feels smaller than my other 22 mm. brushes. It has body, though, and it is full and with great backbone.

    Regards
    Obie
