Thanked: 8So why does my new brush smell like my grand parents house?
Or is it just that my grand parents house smelled like wet badger?
ANYWAY! how would i get rid of the smell? Or will it just go away? Honestly it doesnt really bother me much cuz for some odd reason it really does smell like my grand parents house...

eventually that wet dogish/badgerish smell will fade but shampooing it like you would your own hair in the beginning doesnt hurt and can help with the smell and softness of the hair.

You can probably get rid of the smell by adding some hair shampoo to your bathroom sink full of warm water and soaking it for 10-20 minutes.
Over time time, and with daily use, the "new" smell of your brush will probably dissipate anyway. The shampooing will simply hasten the process."Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." Mark Twain

Yeah, all new brushes seem to smell like the backside of a badger, but it wears off quick with some sweet smelling soaps.

Some tend to be stronger than others. Make sure you initially wash your new brush before first use. I like to use borax.
