Thanked: 1371You can get your bristle brushes to fan out... It's hard to explain with words; maybe I'll do a video one day.
If your vanity has a rounded sink basin (as most do) put a few inches of hot water in the bottom, then take your bristle brush and let it soak for a bit. Once it's soaked, mash it into the bottom of the basin while twisting to get the bristles to fan out uniformly.
Then, tip the handle back a bit so that it makes the bristles closest to the handle bend downward and spin the brush while putting lots of pressure on it. Do this for a few minutes.
Once that's done, shake the water from the brush and then smack the bristles into your other hand like making a painting motion.
Now find a hard flat surface and press the bristles in and give a twist again.
Now let the brush dry and repeat. Finally repeat one more time.
I haven't found any brush that I haven't been able to get to bloom nicely with that method.
I know that it's confusing when I try to explain it with words. Next time I get a brush that is difficult to bloom I'll do a video.
