lol...sterling is 90% silver, so at $18.00/ounce, that makes sterling about $16.50. This brush has what....2oz of sterling...so $33 in silver, $22 knot, and about $100 in labor (and that's pretty generous)

    That's just overpriced

You don't have to be a brush snob to know that's a ridiculously overpriced brush. But I suppose if a guy wanted to know how Rockefeller shaved go ahead and blow the wad...

I don't even see what is so special about it, design-wise to merit even the price @50% off.
For that money I think you can get 2 very nice runeys or w/e the top brand is.

For $600, you could get a great razor, strop, brush, soap and mug, and probably have cash left over for some hones.

Actually, I just had a look and you can. A DOVO Bismarck shaving kit from SRD starts at $240, and you can get the Naniwa 5/8/12k set for $174. Chuck in the 1k and a DMT 325 and thats another $77, so the total for all of that is $491, leaving you $109 for a couple of eBay razors to hone up, or a couple of shave ready classics from the classifieds. Or you could upgrade the strop, soap and brush from the SRD kit.

    Crazy price for sure!

First it's AOS so you know it's over priced to begin with. Second you don't know how much silver is in it unless you weigh the thing. Third Silver tarnishes so keeping it good looking would be a pain and if it's coated with something the coating will wear off. Lastly you don't know how good the business end of the brush is. It's not 2 band.

Coin silver is 900 and sterling is 925.
