Default Made my own brush and stand

After my first attempt at making a brush I decided not to use it until I had a way to properly store it (that being inverted). So I got out the tools and my creativity again and crafted my own brush stand for my brush.

I would highly recommend making your own brush or stand or both as the total cost for my brush AND stand was 35$ for a Silvertip Badger Knot with a handle how I wanted it and a nice wooden stand (not an overpriced metal or acrylic one). Just get creative at a hardware store (trust me woodworking and craftsmanship is NOT my strong suit nor do i own a lot of tools, these were made with a miter saw, lots of sanding, and my dads drill press).

The brush pictured in the pics is the one I made, as is the stand.

Good work I like the design. What kind of wood and finish did you use.
I just got some badger nots and DE heads and am going to make myself a brush, DE and stand with Koa wood my Mom and Dad got me when they went to Hawaii.

nothing fancy for the wood. I used Hemlock for the brush and Oak for the stand.

I used Minwax stain on them.

I also used Minwax wood hardener to stabilize the wood and keep moisture out, and then finished it with Minwax finishing wax.

.... maybe i should get a job with Minwax... hahaha

Love the stand! Great design. Did you make that up or did you find the idea somewhere? it's really nice as a set with the brush too! I might get my husband to make me a stand like it to go with my brush and razor made out of purple Gidgee! (if you want to see my brush just look in lady's forum)

I like it! It reminds me of Lincoln logs though.

Very simple and nice. If you extended the holder part you could hang a couple of brushes from the same stand. That would be really neat.
