New Plisson HMW arrived (finally)
Here is a pic of my newest brush.
It is a Plisson #16 (24mm)High Mountain White Silver tip, in Horn.
I've cleaned it, and intend to use it for tonights shave.
It looks great, and feels really nice.
Thought I would write a review on it, in a few weeks, after it has been broken in.Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Real nice
Hi Birnando,
Congratulations on this classy score. That really looks like a superb brush. I would be very curious as to your in depth review of this beast's performance and feel.
I wonder how it would compare to the 24mm Thater and Shavemac (and other similar caliber) brushes.
Enjoy it.

Great brush. I have that in size 14.
You have to watch comparisons because the HMW is a typical 2 bander while the Thater and similar are three bands and they have totally different shaving characteristics. If your looking to compare it you need to use a Rooney Finest or a Simpson Super which are similar. Of course you can compare them for fit and finish and ergonomics on an equal footing. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thank you for informing me about this.
I was thinking about a straight comparison on the brushes that I mentioned in my original post, but I see that that, apparently, is not necessary the correct way to go
Ah well, off to purchase a Rooney's finest then I guess.

I'd like to follow this up a bit, If you don't mind
I clearly don't get the 3 versus 2 band thing.
I'm including a picture of the 3 brushes I mentioned I was thinking about doing a comparison with.
With my not so experienced eyes these brushes all seem to be similar banded brushes?
What I see is a white tip of all the bristles, a darker band in the middle, and then they all seem to become whiter again towards the handle.
And yet 2 of them are 3 band, and the last one is a 2 band?
Hopefully you could enlighten me a bit on this issue
Lot's of stuff to learn in this Sport!Bjoernar

Question
Hi Maestro,
You know...I am so glad you brought this up. I have heard the 2-band vs. 3-band debate, but I am not sure if I correctly understand it.
1. Do the 2- or 3-band from some special hairs from special parts of the badger?
2. Is it processed differently, hence resulting in their varied characteristics?
Any info that can better educate me in this regard would be greatly appreciated. I have Shavemac D01 (and regular), and a Thater brush...they seem to have similar physical characteristics (backbone, soft tips, etc...).
Anything in particular that jumps out in 2- vs. 3-bands that one should be aware of when comparing?
Thanks in advance
