    Default Brush stand

Picked up a VDH brush some time ago and found a cheap brush stand for it. Got the stand home and the VDH won't fit, its TOO fat.

Anyone recommend a cheap brush stand for a fat brush like the VDH?

I think I paid like $6 for the one, no biggie as I used it for my old brush that was my grandfathers to hang it up with

I don't know what kind if stand you have, but I slip the brush Knot through the stand (upside down) and rest the brush on the collar of the handle

A dremel, or a utility knife, or sand paper is what I recommend... just make the collar of the stand wider so it fits.

Also, as was said above, it sounds like your trying to hang the brush by the handle... Hang it by where the bristles meet the handle instead, there's the smallest diameter there.

    Cheers,

    Default Brush Stand

    Hello, PWillis:

Those VDH brushes are rotund and don't fit the standard plastic (I assume that's what you have) drip stands. There are bigger drip stands. Since you already have this drip stand, as Shavedzombie suggests, shave down the collar and hang the brush by the color, where the bristle meets the handle.

    Regards,
    Obie

For what it's worth..I have two brushes one with a wrapped lanyard around the handle(my boar brush) and the other a long wooden handle that I screwed a small eyelet into and attached a lanyard as well(my pure badger). I use a small key rack mounted on the wall and just hang my brushes. It works quite well. Very utilitarian, but none to shabby really.

+1, that's what I do. Unless the knot is the size of your fist you should have no problems utilizing your stand in this fashion.

    Acrylic Shaving Brush Drip Stand

There is the link to the exact brush stand that I have.

I'm not trying to hang it by the handle but like everyone said by where the two meet. It will go, if I force it but it pushes several hairs out and its a VERY tight fit. Guess I will have to grind it out wider...

I hang a brush upside down (bristle down) by the knot in this same holder, but my problem is that the bloom of the brush is too wide - it gets mashed by the holder....
