Default Does anyone know where to buy Badger knots in Los Angeles?

I have some brushes ready to restore and have cleaned them out, and while I'm fine doing it online with Golden Nib thought it would be easiest to see them in person and make sure the knots fit precisely into the holes I spent way too much time on cleaning out.

I like the way you think, but it's not going to work.

First, in the whole US, there's only like 2 or 3 people who sell these badger knots, and Golden Nib in Arizona has more sizes and variations than anyone else. So you probably won't be able to find a bricks and mortar business serving the badger-knot-purchasing community in LA.

Second, there's a good way to find out if you're ordering the right size knot. Get a set of digital calipers from a tool store like Harbor Freight for about $30. These calipers have little points that you can stick right into the hole of the knot and measure the diameter directly. Also remember that it's a good idea to buy a knot that's a little bit larger than the hole you have because the knots can always be trimmed or sanded down a bit, but they can never be made larger.
