Default Shavemac D01 Two Band Fan Shape 26mm.

So I got my new Shavemac in the mail, and I really like it already. I chose the black version with a 26 mm knot and 50 mm loft in the fan shape. My three other brushes has the bulb shape, and I thought I would use this two band D01 on my soaps. I was also wondering how a fan shape brush would be like. Should be a soap killer, but I have not tried the brush yes. Tomorrow morning will be the first time, looking forward to it already.

Thought I would post some impressions of the brush in this thread over some time. Here it is!

    Handsome brush.

personally I've never noticed any differences between different knot shapes on brushes.

Good Looking Brush. For me, just a slight difference in how they whip up the lather with puck soaps and hardly noticeable.

Today I have shaved twice, this morning my new brush met Mr. Tabac soap for the first time, made wonderful lather in my Schwarzweisskeramik scuttle. You could tell the brush is made of hairs from an animal, the smell was pure Badger, but I actually like that wild smell and would almost prefer it to stay, but it disappear in a few days. The fan shape was very nice, even if this is quite a large brush, a 26 mm knot, I had no problems delivering lather to all my face without any mess around. I felt the fan shape was easier than the bulb shape under the nose for instance.

This two-band D01 Silvertip has hairs with much "backbone", but the tip of the hairs are very soft, pure luxury to the skin without beeing "fluffy" at all.

At the moment I have just finished a shave with a 40 year old 6/8 ShurEdge I was gifted by a Gentleman at SRP. It gave me a wonderful shave, almost BBS in all places, and I used the Shavemac with TOBS Avocado cream in my SW scuttle. It lathered up the large SW with loads of the creamiest lather, and I had warm lather for a full 20 minutes shave.

So my first impressions are very positive (as I expected, that was why I spent the dollars on this brush). Very good on the Tabac, and just as good on the TOBS cream. After a few more days use I think it will be even better, and it is my pleasure to break it in
