Default Took a 1 day pottery class

I wanted to make a small shaving bowl. I was thinking something small with a wide mouth that tappers in at the top to hold the lather in. Anyway the piece turned out HUGE!

Thats mine on the left and my wife's on the right.

I have always wanted to work on a potters wheel. When I was a kid my folks bought me a battery powered one. It was a total POS. I even thought to make my own and found plans at the local library for a wheel you could kick with your foot but never had the space to make it.

It was a really fun class. The teacher is going to glaze and fire the pieces. I'll post a picture if they survive the process.

Hmmmm - It looks like your wife's bowl will fit inside yours - I think we have a scuttle in the making

That would be funny if it worked out that way. Don't things shrink a bit during firing? Maybe it would be that big. I think that XL scuttle is as big or bigger

    Congrats Shoki
That is a great thing to do...You know...I have been toying with the idea of doing the same (maybe at our local community college)

it should be fun...Now, I need to find the time
