drying a brush
How do you dry off your brush? Do you rinse it until there is no sign of any lather left? Do you tamp it on a towel or shake it off?
I think I may be overdoing it, I rinse the heck out of mine, then shake vigorously about 10 times. I have noticed a hair or two coming out recently. I hang mine to dry afterwards.
Thanks for the help in advance.

Pretty much the same way you do. I usually open the shower door and flick the brush a few times in the air (water gets everywhere, hence the shower), then I let them hang in their drip stands to dry. I try not to use the same brush on consecutive days, just to make sure they're nice and dry.
Some people swipe them up and down on a towel, but I've never liked that idea, as I don't want to pick up any lint or other detritus from the towel that could get hidden in the knot.

Thanked: 17I rinse mine almost as though I'm making lather with my (bowl-shaped) mug under hot tap water. I usually give it a shake and then re-rinse followed by more shaking to get the water out. I think you can plan on losing a few bristles here and there.

I rinse and squeeze until I'm sure all the soap is out and also flick in the shower and then hang them to dry. I have enough of a rotation so I only use the same brush every few days so they all dry completely.

Sometimes I just leave it in the bowl. I dont rinse it out at all. When i do I rinse give it a quick shake and sit it bristles up to dry.

I think you may be overdoing it. I just rinse it until there is no sign of lather (brushing it against my hand, etc), then shake the water out vigorously a few times - 5-6? Then I hang it on a cheap plastic stand. For a year or so I didn't even have the stand and never had a problem. Shaving Brushes, Men's Wet Shaving, Badger and Boar Bristles Brushes, Razors has a video or two on brush care that I think are pretty good.

Losing the occasional bristle is normal.
I use a towel after rinsing and flicking, then bristles down in the bowl.
Monthly I will shampoo and condition, read that somewhere here.
It works for me.
