New Brush
well I turned a handle for my silvertip brush knot I got from Golden Nib and here is how it turned out.
I need to look into CA finishes the oil base Poly I used on this project isn't taking the Shaving soap very well. Ore to keep the satin look I may just seal with tung oil and put bee's wax over it

Wood and water, long term don't mix. Unless you seal it real well you'll have problems. In the old days we used to use multiple coats of sanding sealer as we sanded it down and that did a pretty good job of protecting it from water damage.

also with CA as with epoxy finishes you can buff back to a satin sheen. I just use progressively rougher micromesh or similar until I get the finish that I want. In general I avoid any satin finish unless it is the nature of that finish to produce a satin sheen, satin polys or lacquers are just gloss finish with additives that reduce the gloss, these can cause problems; but I mostly don't like to add extra stock unless necessary.
