Default to blow dry or not to blow dry?

I have gotten in to the habit of blow drying my brush after shaving as well as my razor and just started to wonder if the heat can damage the brush ?

Just rinse it good and brush it along your palm briskly and hang it up.No need to get all moderny gadgety now. What would Great Grampa say ?? Keep it simple, primitive and efficient and you'll be fine. Besides is it worth a good brush to find out really ??

You are right of course except for the simple fact I don't have a stand and always let it sit upright upon the base.
Dear old Gramps would most likely call it a sissy move.

I have seen posts on both sides of the tips up/tips down argument, and I really don't think it matters with modern glues or whatevers.

As for drying my brush, I shake it out towards my shower curtain and don't stop until I can't hear droplets hitting anymore. Then I swirl the tips on my towel and hang her up.

Just shake it out. No need to go overboard with it.

That is my take on it as well. I'd be afraid that the heat would be detrimental to whatever natural oils are still in the hair. I have always flicked the excess moisture into the sink and then I hang the brush bristle side down in a stand. Another controversial topic. I hear hanging isn't necessary but it makes me feel better whether it does anything for the brush or not.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I rinse mine real well and shake it out to get the water out and to have the bristles reset. Then I hang it upside down. Why waste the electricity?

Blow drying your hair can damage it without conditioners and the like so hair off a dead animal I wouldn't bring anywhere near hot air. Just my feeling.

I agree with BigSpender, heat, I feel, can damage hair quality. I do although, blow dry my razor's pivot area dry every time I use one. Blow drier works great on foggy mirrors too.
