I just got a tweezerman for a travel brush, and was initially impressed by the feel of the brush, but when I shampooed it, it gave off a nauseating odor. Don't know if they pulled the hair from the wrong end of the badger, or something deliberatly put on it, but it smelled so bad I had to move it to the garage to dry.

Most brushes, whether they be boar or badger, will have a funky smell to them that goes away after a good cleaning.

Agreed, most of my other brushes had a wet animal smell when new, but this one has a very different kind of stench, in fact my wife commented on it from the bedroom. When wet, it smells likes something I really don't want to rub around on my face. I'll give it a couple more washes & see if it gets better before I send it to the dumpster.
