Default Are all brushes sterilized before assembly?

I know this might seem like a paranoid, dumb question but my new Plisson just came in and nowhere do I see then word sterilized. With all the talk about anthrax and other scary stuff from the past it got me thinking. My two other brushes have all said sterilized on either the box or the brush. Any opinions gentlemen?

You are right to be concerned, what with the recent outbreak of badger pox and all the other stuff floating around. The only way to be sure at this point to is send me that vile disease ridden thing for testing. Obviously the first step is a lengthy quarantine followed by various time consuming tests. Rest assured that the brush will not be returned to you until I am absolutely sure it is safe.

All kidding aside I wouldn't be worried.

Mitch, although your offer to test and quarantine my brush is admirable, I think I will take my chances! Lol...

Jeremy - You crazy daredevil. I beg you to reconsider whether this is a chance you are willing to take. Think of your loved ones if not yourself. To show you how serious I think this is I would be even be willing to provide you with a 100% safe brush to use during the quarantine and testing period (I again want to be very transparent about the fact that this is lengthy, lengthy process). This brush is synthetic and has been used to saddle soap my shoes and boots for the last 20 years or so and none of them have come down with anything so I know this brush is to a reasonable degree of certainty disease free. If you come to your senses my offer stands. Because I care.

What disease are you afraid of giving the brush?

Old brushes were marked sterilized because that was an important issue then and folks were more aware of disease since so many died from them. These days folks assume it's safe and yes it goes through a process.

Thanks, I was pretty sure things are washed and processed prior, it's still nice to have some reassurance. I don't mean to sound paranoid, it did cross my mind though after doing some reading though. Leave it to the internet to instill fear!
