Default A HMW has found a new home...mine!

Gentlemen, here is a peek at my newest acquisition, a HMW Plisson. I have attached a few pictures for your enjoyment and to show a size comparison to a Vulfix. My intial thoughts:

    Pros:
    1. This is a very well made beautiful shaving brush.
    2. It has just enough backbone to make me happy, yet not too stiff.
    3. I now own a brush that is made by an old company that provided shaving brushes to Napoleon's court back in the 1800's, blah, blah, blah...
    4. For a 17mm knot, this brush is not as small as I had expected but, I like smaller brushes so this one is a perfect size.

    Cons:
    1. The tips are not as soft as I anticipated. Keep in mind I have been using a Super Badger Vulfix for years as my primary brush so not many will seem soft in comparison.
    2. For a brush taking several hundred dollars from my money clip, I would have expected more than decals on the handle. I hope they do not start to peel off because the Plisson logo is really something to look at.

Overall, I am very happy with the brush. I think I will like it more once it is nice and broken in.

    The picture comparision is:
    A. Vulfix Super Badger- 22mm knot/ 50mm loft.
    B. Plisson High Mountain White- (Size 8) 17mm knot/ 50mm loft.

I have a HMW size 14 and my feeling about it was it's a top of the line brush and is higher in quality (hairwise) than either my Rooney Finest or Simpson Super but not enough to make up for the difference in money they charge for it. However now you have the bragging rights to having the best brush in the world.

    Enjoy using it.

I agree with you there, it is a bit pricey for what you get. It is a nice brush though, that's certain.
